As travelers come and go worldwide, many leave marks in a silent exchange, communicating that I was here, I exist. They embrace and taunt each other over time and distance, sharing in-jokes, and making rude gestures against surveillance and control. Marks about seeking community, personal bests, creating a customized, personalized experience of neighborhoods. This is ours. You are welcome. Some people and some experiences are still free.
Unsurprisingly, some graffiti and experience design professionals connect, emerge, cross over, and enhance the many disciplines in each. Artists bring graffiti writing and design skills to the digital, sculptural, and architectural worlds. Experience designers document, facilitate, and embrace graffiti culture and experience in their own lives and work, recognizing the importance of people owning, co-creating, and humanizing the artifacts and environments we share.
With this journal, we hope to illuminate some of the compelling work being done at these intersections of people, concerns, design, research, media, environments, liberty, trespass, and aesthetics.
Urban User Experience:
How can cities become better human habitat?
The journal of User Experience & Urban Creativity (UXUC) is concerned with improving the experience of living in cities. Although all UX disciplines focus on improving designs for people to use, the human experience of the built environment is of crucial importance because a majority of people now live in an urban or suburban environment. Double blind review will be done by the Editorial Team.
Write your paper (text + images) in one of the following formats:
- Article - full papers ( ± 5000 words);
- Essay - Working Papers ( ± 1000 words);
- Reviews ( ± 500 words).
February 2019 - Launch the call for papers;
May/ June 2019 - Submissions for current issue review;

All authors are invited for presentation in the Lisbon Urban Creativity Conference on 4, 5 and 6 of July 2019.
All the accepted papers in UXUC Journal will be fully free to download and open access and indexed (among others in EBSCO, Web of Science, Scopus).
Publishing fee payment, if applied, will be processed after the paper acceptance for publication.
The publication will be also available in print, hard copy paper based format (on demand).
